EMPIRE's "Music That Made Me" series is a tribute to Black Music Month and the profound impact of Black music on culture. Winning the 26th annual Webby Awards in social arts entertainment, this project truly made waves. With four episodes released on EMPIRE's IG Story and curated playlists on TIDAL, its reach extended far and wide, touching an international audience. This campaign serves as a love letter to the influential tracks that have shaped some of the most talented musicians today.

As the visual designer for this campaign, I drew inspiration from vintage Black jazz artist album covers. The simple but colorful design system gave a A retro yet familiar visual that perfectly encapsulated the essence of the project without overshadowing its core message. Because, in the end, it's all about the music. This campaign is a joyous celebration of the voices that have shaped our world.
